Contemporary solar panels do not contain real silver. If they do, they contain too little silver to be worth recycling. But some solar panels made 15, 20 or more years ago may contain silver worth recycling and then there's the fact that the contacts on their edges often contain silver. Gold CDs, Laserdiscs and other digital media
In our previous post on this blog, we stated that there is not enough gold or silver to recycle on CDs and DVDs. We stand by this suggestion. But in days gone by, real gold was indeed used in small quantities for some memorable collectible CDs. Architectural elements covered in gold leaf
If you bought a small picture frame covered in gold leaf, it's not worth recycling the gold in it. Why? Because the cost of extracting gold is higher than the value of the gold itself. However, if you somehow end up tearing down an old church whose walls and trim are gold leaf, please give us a call.
