To recycle ruthenium from spent catalysts and various ruthenium-containing materials, the first thing to solve is the dissolution of ruthenium. Currently, there are many dissolution methods, but most of them are chemical methods. Taking the invalid ruthenium-containing catalyst as an example, the basic principle is: after the material is pretreated, the elemental ruthenium in the zero-valent state is converted into a simple cation or an oxyacid anion in a high-valent state through oxidation or melting reaction. Insoluble elemental ruthenium or ruthenium dioxide is converted into water-soluble high-valent cations or ruthenate ions, which greatly improves the dissolution rate of ruthenium, thus laying the foundation for follow-up work.
The technology for recovering regenerated ruthenium from spent ruthenium catalysts is mainly hydrometallurgy, which can be mainly divided into: fused oxidation distillation method, fused reduction precipitation method, direct oxidation method and active metal replacement method.
